The first official visit to a base camp by the US military in decades has begun in Minnesota.
The visit is being made by the US military’s Commandant of the Army, General Mark Milley, who is visiting the US base Minneapolis-St Paul (MSP).
The US has previously made it clear that it does not want any campers on its soil.
Last year, the US and the Russian defence ministers signed a joint statement saying that no US troops will be allowed to be stationed at any camp in Russia.
MSP said that the US has been in touch with the Russians to clarify that it is not allowed to send US soldiers to any base in Russia under any circumstances.
“The US military has conveyed to the Russians our firm stance that they cannot be using the bases for any purpose except as a military installation,” MSP Commander Lieutenant Colonel David Waggoner said.
According to the US, the MSP camp is only being used for training purposes, but this has led to the number of people camping at the camp rising.
US troops were allowed to visit the base last year but, now that the military has a permanent presence in the US, the number has doubled.
There are no campers at the base camp, and the US is keeping the camp open.
Military commander David Wiggoner said he was happy to have a chance to talk with the people who have been camping out at the MSP.
“When we talk to people, we talk about their families, their livelihoods, their futures, about how they are going to get by,” he said.
“This is the opportunity to meet with them.
We want to hear what they are doing there.”
US servicemen and women have been visiting bases in Germany, Denmark, France, Norway, Italy, Spain, Belgium and Turkey.
Since its inception in 2013, the Minuteman Army has seen more than 500,000 men and women go to military bases around the world.
One camp in the country’s northernmost province of the Northwest Territories, where the base is located, has seen more than 7,000 people.
Several bases have been opened in Germany since the end of the cold war, and a number of minis have been set up.
In recent months, several bases have opened in Australia, but there is no official US presence in Australia.
Many of the ministers visiting the MSC are visiting the base camp to congratulate the soldiers.
Commander David Milley is a former US Marine Corps general who served as Vice Admiral General of the United States Air Force.
He is also the director of the US Pacific Command and Chair of the US Pacific Command’s National Security Strategy.
Milley will meet with the men and women at the Misc camp on Friday.
For the first time since his appointment to the US army, Milleys visit Misfits base will be in Minnesota.
This is the first time the general has been to the country, but he said it was an important visitation.
Earlier in the week, Militants of The Islamic State (IS ) claimed responsibility for the attack at the base camp.
IS is the militant group that took responsibility for severa militants killed at a base camp in France in January 2015. Ministers from all countries will be present to the war that was fought during the cold war.
